What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They let sites remember your device, your preferences, and how you interact with the pages. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, and tags that do broadly the same job.

The categories of cookies we use

Strictly necessary

These make the site work. They cannot be turned off in our settings, but you can block them at the browser level (the site may not function correctly if you do).

  • WordPress session and login cookies (wordpress_logged_in_*, wp-settings-*).
  • WooCommerce cart and checkout cookies (woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart, wp_woocommerce_session_*) — required so the shopping cart works.
  • Security cookies (e.g. Jetpack anti-spam and firewall tokens).
  • Cookie consent state — remembers what you chose in our cookie banner.

Analytics

These help us understand aggregate use of the site — which pages people visit, how they got there, how long they stay — so we can improve it.

  • Google Analytics (via Google Site Kit): _ga, _gid, _gat_*. Data is aggregated and pseudonymized where possible. Retention is set to Google Analytics defaults (currently 14 months for event data).
  • Jetpack Stats (if active): basic page view tracking.

Functional

These remember choices you have made to give you a better experience.

  • Language or region preferences (if any).
  • Consent choices for future visits.

Marketing / advertising

We currently do not run paid ad retargeting on the site. If we add advertising cookies in the future, we will list them here and require explicit consent from EU/UK visitors.

Embedded third-party content

Some pages embed content from third parties (for example a Google Maps view, an Instagram embed, a YouTube or Vimeo video, a Google Reviews widget powered by Trustindex). Those providers may set their own cookies when the content loads. We do not control those cookies. Their policies apply:
