This policy explains our approach to refunds, cancellations, and reschedules for the services and digital products we sell.
Digital products (downloadable resources)
Digital products (including but not limited to the Portfolio Starter Kit, Portfolio Template, and other downloadable resources sold in our shop) are non-refundable once purchased and made available for download.
This is because you receive immediate access to the full product on completion of payment, and returning a digital file is not possible in a meaningful way.
Exceptions where we will issue a refund:
- The download link failed to deliver and we cannot resend it within 5 business days.
- You were charged more than once for the same order due to a technical error on our side.
- The product you received is materially different from what was described on the product page and we cannot resolve the issue.
To request a refund under one of these exceptions, email hello@tjandsophia.com within 14 days of purchase with your order number and a description of the issue.
Refunds are processed back to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.
EU / UK consumer statutory right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer located in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases.
For digital content (files delivered immediately), you waive this right when you check the box or click the button at checkout confirming that you understand delivery begins immediately and that you lose your right of withdrawal. If you have not accessed or downloaded the file, you may still request a refund within 14 days by emailing hello@tjandsophia.com.
Photography and videography services
Services (photo shoots, image films, UGC packages, social media management months) are governed by our booking terms, summarized here:
Deposits
Deposits are non-refundable because they hold your shoot date and cover our planning time.
Reschedules
- More than 7 days before the shoot: free of charge, subject to our availability.
- 7 days or less before the shoot: we may charge up to 50% of the shoot fee to cover our travel and lost booking opportunity.
Cancellations
- Cancelled more than 14 days before the shoot: deposit forfeited; balance not owed.
- Cancelled 7 to 14 days before the shoot: deposit forfeited plus 25% of the shoot fee.
- Cancelled less than 7 days before the shoot: full shoot fee owed.
- Weather or safety issues: we will work with you to reschedule at no penalty and no additional deposit.
After delivery
Once your final photos or videos are delivered, the shoot is considered complete. If you feel the deliverables do not meet what was agreed, contact us within 7 days of delivery and we will discuss revisions in good faith. Revisions are limited to correcting errors against the agreed scope; they do not cover changes of taste or new requests that were not part of the original brief.
Social media management (monthly retainer)
- Monthly retainers are billed at the start of each service period.
- You may cancel your retainer at any time with 30 days’ written notice.
- Prepaid retainers are not refundable for the paid period, but service will continue through the end of the period you paid for.
Chargebacks
If you initiate a chargeback with your bank or card provider without contacting us first to resolve the issue, we reserve the right to:
- Suspend your access to any products or ongoing services.
- Pursue collection of the disputed amount if the chargeback is not warranted under this policy.
- Refuse future service.
We would much rather sort it out directly. If something is wrong, email us at hello@tjandsophia.com and we will make it right.
How to request a refund
Email hello@staytostory.com with:
- Your name and the email address used at purchase.
- Your order or invoice number.
- A short explanation of the issue.
We aim to respond within 3 business days and to resolve the refund within 10 business days from approval.
